bluma project began with a simple idea:
little things can mean a lot
and that women
can support each other globally.
Starting with an African paper bead necklace, bluma project officially launched in early 2010. Having built a career on
redefining materials, bluma's founder Beth Schaeffer now leads a team in NY to design
vibrant and refined jewelry that will serve as a tool for change. bluma project supports
women's employment in cooperatives throughout the globe, and looks forward to
creating an ever-widening array of products. Currently working in Rwanda and Ghana.
bluma project will unveil its newest additions of African jewelry this Spring, to be sold in
Anthropologie, abc home, Shopbop.com, and a select group of stores worldwide. Made
entirely of custom designed beads, each piece is meant to be mixed and layered for a
sophisticated take on color and texture.
